Jeff's smile reflected his infectious humor, his big heart and willingness to be there for you, and his love for and pride in his family. A few of the things Jeff’s life partner, Brenda, loved most about him was that he was an uncomplicated, straightforward and sentimental man. And he loved Brenda unconditionally, even, Brenda says, when that wasn’t always an easy thing to do.
Here in this photo, that’s Cowboy he’s holding. When Jeff and Brenda met, Jeff was introduced to his first Doxie, Trixie, beginning a lifelong love affair with this gentle breed. Trixie blessed Jeff and Brenda’s lives for 17 years, and when Trixie passed, Brenda swore she’d never get another dog. But then a friend sent her photos of a new Doxie litter, and there was Cowboy. So began another deep and enduring relationship. Jeff was smitten, too, and he and Cowboy became inseparable.
It was the Humane Society of Tampa Bay that brought Jeff and Brenda together with their next Doxie, Gabby. She was by Jeff's side, loyal and loving, and kept Jeff going through the tough times. Brenda and Gabby - and all of us - now miss Jeff dearly. We take comfort that Jeff, Trixie, and Cowboy are reunited and are among the stars shining in the night sky. Next time you look up, think of them and keep them close in your hearts.
